A community built on respect, courage and the relentless pursuit of being better than yesterday.
Jalpaiguri Sports Taekwondo Academy was founded with one simple belief: every student carries the potential of a champion. Over the years we have grown from a single training hall into one of the most respected taekwondo institutions in North Bengal.
Hundreds of our students have earned belt promotions and stood on podiums at district, state and national tournaments. But beyond medals, we are proudest of the confident, disciplined and kind individuals our academy has shaped.
To inspire students of every age to develop physical strength, mental discipline and moral integrity through taekwondo.
To become North Bengal's most respected centre for producing champions in sport and outstanding citizens in life.
Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit — the five tenets we live by.
Dr. Mintu Barman is the Founder and Head Coach of Jalpaiguri Sports Taekwondo Academy (JSTA). He is an experienced Taekwondo instructor, 3rd Dan Black Belt, National Coach, National Referee (Class–3), and a Registered Belt Examiner (West Bengal).
His Taekwondo journey began in 2006. Through dedication, perseverance, and years of continuous training, he earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2011 and currently holds the rank of 3rd Dan Black Belt.
On 1 September 2014, he established his first Taekwondo training camp with the vision of promoting martial arts, discipline, and self-defense among young people. The academy was officially named Jalpaiguri Sports Taekwondo Academy (JSTA).
In 2015, the academy was officially registered. Today, JSTA is a Government of West Bengal-approved organization and is also registered with NITI Aayog.
